Summary : Gardens aren't always what we think they are; often there is more to them than meets the eye. On the outside gardens are beautiful to look at and on a warm summer night we can smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers floating on a gentle breeze. When we look closer we see the Gardner with his thick gloves on. He wears gloves because some flowers have thorns. When we look closer we see the plants have been pruned and the soil has been turned. When we look deeper into the garden we see the tools the Gardner uses to snip, prune and shape the garden. We see how the Gardner has a plan for each plant that isn't seen from a distance. When we get into the very depths of the garden we see the love and tenderness of the Gardner as He tends to the garden of our hearts. A Walk in the Garden puts us in the hands of the Gardner! Gifted as a teacher Nancy A. Williams has served the Body of Christ in various ways since 1990. She is an ordained minister in her local church teaching and preaching with an emphasis on drawing the believer to a closer relationship with God. Her love of the Word of God and her tenacious style of digging out the treasures of God's Word, brings a depth and fullness to our understanding that draws the reader closer to God.

Summary : Following a spiritual awakening at the altar in the 1970s, author Nancy E. Alexander began the daily devotion of journaling her thoughts, ideas, and spiritual musings about her relationship with God and the world around her. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the words and thoughts came freely in response to daily Bible study. In time, the thoughts waned, and the collection was shelved. Now, over forty years later, Nancy revisits those writings and finds fresh and unexpected meaning. In A Walk in the Garden, she presents an inspired collection of analogies and truths depicting the redeeming and sustaining power of God. Revealing a forty-year spiritual journey, the entries ponder an array of thoughts such as forgiveness, acceptance, renewal, grace, the idea of eternity, and miracles. A Walk in the Garden presents a collection of writings that help you reflect on your own walk with God. It communicates the message that God calls to you and seeks you out each day.

Summary : “A nice fantasy, gentle yet intriguing. I like the notion of a prince facing a coming-of-age initiation that is as simple as a walk in a garden, and as complicated as the interactions between gods and men.” – Piers Anthony A Walk in the Garden is an elegant coming of age novel which teaches many life lessons about morality, faithfulness, trust, and virtue. The young Prince Carín meets fascinating people and experiences many challenges, all of which have lessons for him to learn. His visit to the lovely and peaceful Garden of the Goddess is interrupted, however, by the godless Jarl who seek only to exploit the energies of the Garden for their own selfish ends. It is left to Carín to save the Garden from their evil machinery and restore the balance.

Summary : I began writing song lyric, then came poetry, and short stories some 40- years-ago when I was 10-years-old. During the sixties in high school, I had the privilege of meeting The Poet Laureate of the United States, Mr. Robert Frost. He spoke with me discussing my poetry and my ideas. He told me to keep writing and reading, and as I continued I would learn so much more and eventually become a published poet. I have continued writing lyrics, poetry, and short stories. I am now 64-years old and I am published. I have always told other poets and writers to keep on writing, and learning about the many different styles of the written arts. The way I see writing poetry is a likeness to a photograph of a moment, a dream, a place, and a thing, a memory good or not so good. Life comes at us in many different ways, sometimes in many different ways at once. Its the situations that arise, the masks some people wear, the way they talk and rub shoulders with everybody. These things make up the poetry I write. When you sit down and look at life youll find its much bigger than just us. This is poetry, lyric writing, short stories from the imagination, journalism, and actually all the arts, they are great love affairs with life. I have found all things good in the written arts, even when Im turned down by an editor. Its all learning and enjoying what you do. So choose a photograph of a moment, a dream, or a situation, and then write about it. Create a picture with words of description. I live a simple life as a Disabled Veteran of the U.S.M.C., and the Vietnam War. However, I am simply who I am, and I dont try to say Im someone else. I am a human being who loves the arts. My message to you all whom read this is KEEP ON WRITING; KEEP ON KEEPING ON.

Summary : Science and spirituality converge on a poetic, mindful meander that brings the garden to the kitchen in A Walk in the Garden-a genre-defying book featuring easy-to-follow recipes using vegetables, fruits, and herbs gathered from organic gardens. These recipes, which use both traditional and modern cooking techniques such as sous vide and the Instant Pot(R), are seamlessly integrated with timely, topical treatises on racism, gender-based violence, climate change, and other pressing problems of humanity and the planet, and interspersed with human history and the origins of the universe. Rich in accessible scientific evidence and humanism, paths through the garden lead to an irrefutable, transcendent mysticism that blossoms into the interconnectedness of all beings across all times. A Walk in the Garden is a unique and thoughtful gift for gardeners, cooks, scientists, and all who endeavor to connect their spirituality with humanity and planetary sustainability-a gift that speaks directly to the challenges of our troubled times.

Summary : This extraordinarily polished and sophisticated story collection investigates the unaccountable ways in which literature and life entwine. In "Three Seaside Tales" a woman at a resort imagines herself in a Chekhov story only to succumb to banal everydayness, and in "Island Time" a young bride inexorably merges with Emma Bovary. Brennan's fictions position their readers at the edge of the known world, opening onto vistas of both erotic promise and ghastly beauty. The voices, youthful and aging, maniacal and restrained, represent our world's lost, scattering their words among surrealistic ruins, as though they have come to inhabit their own dreams. The lovely protagonist of "Saw" inexplicably maims herself with a chainsaw, literalizing in this violent impulse the self-destructive passion of all of Brennan's characters to actualize romance. These characters lead the reader through a charged, personal landscape of apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic complexity. Their voices will continue to echo long after the book has been closed.
